Interviewing Customers No. 2

1. After the first round of interviews, I found that people do have issues dealing with time management, but a lot less than I expected.

2. I stuck with interviewing college students, but this time I tried to interview guys as well. They seem to have a different opinion on time management and their skills differ from girls.

3. I didn't change my questions because my questions already encompassed what I needed to know.

4. I think my opportunity is still the same as it was after the first 5 interviews. There is still a need for time management skills. What I found to be different is that the boys tend to be much less organized than the girls were.

5. My 3 tips are:

  • Be confident in yourself, it will make you and the person you're interviewing less nervous.
  • Ask open-ended questions because it makes people open up more.
  • Explain why you are interviewing them so they understand and are not weirded out.

  1. Sarah:

You had some really great interviews, I would personally like to see you reach out to an older demographic because I really think you will see the variety in opinions differs (as I did with mine) but all in all your questions are great. Your three tips are great, especially the notation about open ended questions; when people feel comfortable with you and you throw out an open ended question, those seem to be the best answers.

Again, great post. You can check out mine here:

  2. Hi Sara! I really enjoyed reading through what you learned and your tips for future interviewers, and also the interviews that you filmed! I had similar advice in my tips, advising people to have some confidence when they approach strangers for interviews. Also I agree that open-ended questions are much better! I had to make that change to some of my questions myself. Anyways, great job on the assignment! Check out my post if you can. 3. Your interviews were very good. You learned some great tips from your interviews and it seems you are getting a lot of insight. Being confident when asking a stranger a question is key and explaining to them why they are being interviewed is very important. I agree with Nicole that you should try and interview an older demographic to see what other options could be available.
